Vehicle Fabrication

I grew up on Long Island watching a family of brothers create art of different mediums. One brother was into vehicle fabrication and this was my effort later in life to create my own one a kind custom vehicle. It started after I was hit in the front of the truck ruining the bumper and after looking at prices to replace the bumper, even from a junk yard, I decided to see what custom body kits were available in the market for my ford ranger. The body kit i bought was actually for a different year with a slightly different front end but i figured i could make it work. Well the kit said ready to install but that was misleading, it had not mounting kit or anything to even mount with. This lead to the beginning of fabricating parts to make this vision come to life. The first version of my concept was to blend the body kit into the space that was void since this kit was made for a different ranger. This was the first complete vision. In this pic you will see I went all in adding BMW M3 mirrors and grafting a cobra Shelby hood scoop to the hood.

I filled the bottom space with a grill i had from my jeep Cherokee. And was close to done at this point conceptual, but I saw the grill of the Chrysler 300 and knew it would give the front end the look i was going for, so back to the drawing board.

Here you see me building up the layers of fiberglass building around the grill of a Chrysler 300. Which brings us to the day I get to paint my finished creation. This photo was taken after the paint dried and I removed the paper like opening a Christmas present.

below gallery shows the rest of the fabrication i had to complete to convert a body kit for a 2 door into a 4 door body kit as well as the painting : )
